Nice to see folks coming together to relook at this scene throughout the web and great to hear your own thoughts on it! I hope whenever there is another makeover in a movie or series, they think super hard about what message they are conveying. I never had curly hair but I did come away feeling self conscious about my bushy eyebrows. Only in this last year have I thought again about that scene and how it must have affected girls with curly hair. (like how frickin sad, and also it's not realistic at all that her hair just stays super straight)

What would've been so great is at the end scene of the movie when she realizes who she is, she reveals her 'new' look which is back to who she was, just more glammed up. So she has her glasses again, more hydrated curls, and her bushy eyebrows.
