Hello :) Have you read Elizabeth Gilbert's Big Magic? This reminded me of that. She has a chapter on how the process of writing can become so burdensome and heavy when tied with money & success.
She writes about how it's pivotal to write for the sake of writing, or if it's some other pursuit, to create for the sake of creating. That success can be a very fickle thing, money as well, but you can alway show up for the creative process.
I will also say that a lot of popular writers on medium, or at least who I think are popular, can have soulless writing. Lots of lists and 'you must learn this' titles. It makes me feel a little empty, just the formula of it all, and I think that's what can happen if you are just writing for the statistics (which, admittedly, I am getting more and more drawn into).
I am glad you have a husband who can take care of the bills :) I think so many women place a lot of guilt and blame on themselves for not earning an income nowadays, which is kind of a shame. You are in a wonderful situation where you can wander/explore in your writing, and it doesn't have to earn anything :)
