First, this piece is beautifully written, it flows really nicely and has some great phrases, turn of words.

I chuckled when I saw the title because I struggled with this at the beginning of my relationship (with a 10+ age gap). I thought it showed how uninterested he was, but after talking about how I felt he started calling me every night after work, and we would just talk for an hour. It was really lovely (now we live together, so not as much need for either)

I also started calling my friends instead of texting after starting to date him- and that was at first weird but now they appreciate it. What’s funny is that it seems Gen Z is about facetime more than texting, so I think it’s swinging back again.
